Storytime Spinner ("we," "our," or "the Service") is an AI-powered bedtime story generator for children. We are committed to protecting the privacy of our users, especially children and families. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

Account Information: When you register, we collect your email address and a password (stored securely using industry-standard hashing). This is used solely for authentication and account management.
Story Preferences: When you generate a story, you provide preferences such as age range, theme, character names, and moral. These are sent to our AI service to generate your story and are not permanently stored or linked to your identity.
Generated Content: Stories and audio generated by the Service are created on demand. Audio files are temporarily stored on our servers for playback and download, then periodically cleaned up.
Usage Data: We track basic usage metrics (e.g., number of stories generated, credits used) for account management and service improvement. We do not track browsing behavior or use analytics cookies.
Information We Do Not Collect
- We do not collect personal information about children. Story preferences (character names, age ranges) are used only for story generation and are not stored in a way that identifies any real child.

- Story Generation: Your story preferences are sent to Google's Gemini AI to generate story text, and to our text-to-speech service to create narration audio.
- Credit Management: We track your credit balance to manage usage of the Service.
- Service Communication: We may send you important service-related emails (e.g., email verification, account issues).
Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services to provide our platform:
- Google Cloud (Gemini AI): Generates story text based on your preferences. Google's privacy policy applies to their processing of this data.
- Text-to-Speech Services: Converts story text into narrated audio. No personal data is included in these requests.
- Stripe: Processes payments securely. We do not store your payment card details; Stripe handles all payment data under their own privacy policy.
Data Security
We protect your data with:
- HTTPS encryption for all data in transit
- Secure password hashing (bcrypt)
- Session-based authentication with secure tokens

Children's Privacy (COPPA)
Storytime Spinner is designed for use by parents and guardians to create stories for their children. The Service is operated by adults on behalf of children. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. All accounts must be created by a parent or guardian.
