Bedtime Stories for 4 Year Olds
Once upon a time, there was a beautiful castle. It sat on top of a soft, green hill. This was not a cold stone castle. This castle was warm and cozy. It was called the Castle of Whispers.
In this castle lived a little girl named Princess Ella. Princess Ella loved bedtime. Bedtime in the castle was very magical.
Every night, the sky turned a deep, sleepy blue. The friendly stars would fly down from the sky. They looked like tiny, warm nightlights. They hovered gently outside the castle windows. They lit up the rooms with a soft glow.
One special little star was named Pip. Pip was Princess Ella's best friend. Pip glowed with a soft, pink light. He smelled like sweet lavender.
"Time for sleep, little princess," whispered Pip. His voice sounded like a tiny, gentle silver bell.
Ella put on her favorite yellow pajamas. They were as soft as a bunny's fluffy ears. She brushed her teeth until they shined like pearls.
Then, Ella climbed into her big, cozy bed. The bed had fluffy pillows that felt like clouds. It had a warm, purple blanket. The blanket felt like a big, gentle hug.
Pip flew inside the quiet bedroom. He landed softly on the wooden bedpost. He began to glow just a little brighter.
First, Pip helped Ella tuck in her toys. They tucked in the blue velvet teddy bear. He closed his eyes. They tucked in the soft toy bunny. She went to sleep.
"Goodnight, sweet toys," Ella whispered in a quiet voice.
Then, the castle walls began to sing. They hummed a very low, sweet song. It was a gentle bedtime lullaby. It sounded like the summer wind in the trees.
The lights in the castle grew dim and soft. Outside, the moon smiled down. The moon looked like a big, friendly golden banana.
"Are you sleepy, Princess Ella?" Pip asked softly.
"Yes, I am very sleepy," Ella said. She let out a big, happy yawn.
Ella closed her eyes. She felt safe, warm, and loved.
Pip blew a tiny puff of magical star glitter. The warm glitter floated down like soft, silent snow. It made a sweet, warm feeling in the room.
The star glitter brought happy, cozy dreams. It brought dreams of floating on pink clouds. It brought dreams of eating sweet pear drops.
Pip sat quietly on the pillow. He watched over his sleeping friend. He hummed the quiet castle song.
The castle was quiet now. The wind was quiet. The stars were quiet.
Everyone in the castle was fast asleep. They were warm and happy.
Goodnight, little castle. Goodnight, little stars. Goodnight, sweet Ella.
