The sun is going to bed. The sun is big and warm. It shines a soft yellow light. The big sky is soft blue. The clouds are pink and fluffy. It is time for sleep.
Pip the little bunny is tired. He wiggles his soft pink nose. Wiggle, wiggle, twitch. Pip is ready for bed.
Pip walks to the big tree. He sees his friend, Little Bird. Little Bird is in her nest. The nest is soft and warm. Tweet, tweet, sings Little Bird. She folds her small wings. Goodnight, Little Bird, says Pip. Sleepy, sleepy, sleep.
Pip walks to the green pond. He sees his friend, Green Frog. Green Frog sits on a leaf. The pond is very quiet. Ribbit, ribbit, whispers Green Frog. He closes his big eyes. Goodnight, Green Frog, says Pip. Sleepy, sleepy, sleep.
Pip walks to the oak tree. He sees his friend, Gray Squirrel. Gray Squirrel has a fluffy tail. She is under a big leaf. Rustle, rustle, goes the leaf. Goodnight, Gray Squirrel, says Pip. Sleepy, sleepy, sleep.
Pip walks to the tall trees. He sees his friend, Little Deer. Little Deer lies on the grass. The grass is soft and green. Sigh, sigh, breathes Little Deer. She rests her small head. Goodnight, Little Deer, says Pip. Sleepy, sleepy, sleep.
Now, the bright moon is up. The moon is yellow and round. It looks like a big nightlight. The stars shine very soft light. They blink like tiny baby eyes. Twinkle, twinkle, goes the sky. The wind blows very softly. Whoosh, whoosh, whispers the wind. It is very quiet now.
Pip walks to his warm home. His home is under the grass. It is cozy and dry. Mama Bunny is waiting for him. She hugs Pip very tight. Warm, warm, is the hug.
Pip climbs into his bed. His bed is made of moss. The moss is soft and green. Pip covers his little toes. He pulls up his soft blanket. The blanket is warm and cozy.
Mama Bunny sings a soft song. La, la, la, sings Mama. Pip closes his dark eyes. He breathes in and out. Soft, soft, is his breath. The forest is sleeping now. The birds are sleeping now. The frogs are sleeping now. The squirrels are sleeping now. The deer are sleeping now.
Pip is sleeping very soundly. He is warm and happy. Goodnight, little stars, says Pip. Goodnight, big moon, says Pip. Sleepy, sleepy, sleep.
