A Space Bedtime Story
Pip the puppy had a very special spaceship. It sat right next to his cozy bed. The spaceship was painted a warm, glowing silver. Tonight, Pip wore his softest blue pajamas. He was ready for a quiet space adventure.
Pip climbed into the soft pilot seat. He pressed a big, round button. The button was bright yellow like a lemon. The spaceship made a gentle humming sound. It sounded like a happy, purring kitty.
Whoosh! The spaceship floated up into the night sky. It went past the big, friendly moon. The moon smiled a sleepy smile. It waved with a ray of silver light. Pip waved back from his window.
Soon, Pip was flying among the twinkling stars. They looked like tiny, warm nightlights in the dark. The sky was not cold at all. It felt like a giant, soft blanket of deep blue velvet. The stars danced in quiet, slow circles.
Pip saw a beautiful planet shaped like a cloud. It was a lovely, soft lavender color. The lavender planet spun slowly in space. It looked as soft as cotton candy. Pip wanted to touch it.
He steered his ship closer to the lavender planet. A sweet, warm breeze floated through his window. The breeze smelled like fresh vanilla and warm milk. It made Pip feel very safe and happy. Pip took a deep, sleepy breath.
A group of little stars gathered around his spaceship. They began to sing a very quiet song. The song sounded like soft rain falling on green leaves. Pip yawned a wide, sleepy puppy yawn.
In the middle of the stars, Pip found a glowing treasure. It was a tiny, floating island of soft gold dust. A small, sleepy space turtle sat on the island. The turtle wore a tiny, shiny silver shell. It blinked its kind eyes slowly.
The space turtle blew a glowing stardust bubble toward Pip. The bubble floated inside the spaceship. It popped with a tiny, quiet whisper. The whisper said, it is time for sleep.
Pip smiled and nodded his head. He turned his steering wheel very gently. The silver spaceship glided back down toward the earth. It moved as slowly as a falling leaf.
The ship landed softly right next to Pip’s bed. Pip crawled out of the seat. He tucked himself under his warm, heavy blankets. His bed felt so nice and cozy.
He looked out his bedroom window. The big, friendly moon was still smiling. The stars twinkled their quiet, sleepy lullaby. Pip closed his eyes and drifted off to sleep.
